1st Grade Student Teaching Reflection

“As my first student teaching placement, my first grade classroom taught me patience, classroom management strategies, compassion, and confidence. These students and cooperating teachers helped me become comfortable teaching in front of a group. I learned the importance of phonological awareness in young readers, as well as how to differentiate routines and instruction for various learning types while managing behaviors.

My placement in first grade solidfied that I am meant to be an educator and that this profession is my passion. Seeing my students grow and flourish under my instruction was extremely rewarding and I am grateful for everything first grade has taught me."
